Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping & Returns
Below you will find answers to common questions regarding shipping, returns, and exchanges
How much is shipping?
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight, volume, and destination of the order. We ship within Spain (standard and express) and also internationally. The exact cost is shown at checkout.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Delivery times are estimated and may vary depending on the destination and the shipping method chosen. Orders placed after the cut-off time are processed on the next business day. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number.
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from receipt of the order to make a return. EU customers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal without justification. The product must be unused, in its original packaging. Return costs are borne by the customer, except in case of manufacturing defect or shipping error. Contact us at info@3dfils.com.
How are refunds processed?
Once the returned item has been inspected, we will process the refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. If you have not received your refund after 15 days, please contact us at info@3dfils.com.
Orders
Below you will find answers to the most common questions about orders
What types of filament do you sell?
At 3Dfils we offer PLA MAX (more than 30 colors), PETG MAX, TPU (60D, 85A and 90A hardnesses), PLA DUAL (bicolor), ASA MAX and special filaments such as abFil Antibacterial PLA, carbon fiber PETG, flame retardant PETG and magnetic detectable PETG.
In what diameters are the filaments available?
Most are available in 1.75mm, the most common standard. Some PLA MAX and TPU models are also available in 2.85mm. Check the product page for each product to see available options.
In what formats (weights) can I buy the filament?
Depending on the material, we offer spools of 250 g, 500 g, 750 g, and 1 Kg. PLA MAX is also available in packs of 5x1 Kg and 10x1 Kg for greater savings. If you want to try colors, we have a Color Sample Pack for only €8.26.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards and other secure payment methods. Available methods are shown at checkout.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes, we have 5x1 Kg and 10x1 Kg packs of PLA MAX White and Black at a reduced price. If you need large quantities, contact us at info@3dfils.com to discuss your case.
Can I place a custom order or order colors not available on the website?

Products
Below are answers to the most common questions about our products
Is the filament compatible with my 3D printer?
Our 1.75 mm filaments are compatible with the vast majority of FDM printers on the market (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Anycubic, etc.). The 2.85 mm filaments are compatible with printers such as Ultimaker or BCN3D. Check your printer's manual to confirm the compatible diameter.
How should I store filament?
Store it in a cool, dry place, away from humidity and direct sunlight. Ideally, keep it in an airtight bag with desiccant (silica gel) when not in use. Humidity particularly affects materials like PETG and TPU.
What is abFil antibacterial and what is it used for?
abFil is our line of filaments with antibacterial properties, ideal for printing parts in environments where hygiene is important, such as the healthcare, food, or educational sectors. Available in PLA and TPU 90A.
In which sectors are special filaments (PETG CF, flame retardant, magnetically detectable) used?
Carbon fiber (CF) PETG is ideal for lightweight and rigid parts in engineering and automotive applications. Flame-retardant (FRHF) PETG is used in electronics and facilities where fire safety is required. Magnetically detectable (MDT) PETG is designed for the food industry, where it is critical to detect possible fragments in the production chain.
Is PLA biodegradable? What materials are more sustainable?
PLA is made from corn starch or other plant-based sources, which makes it compostable under industrial conditions. It is the most sustainable material in our range. PETG and TPU are engineering plastics with greater durability, but are less biodegradable. If sustainability is a priority, PLA MAX is your best option.
Technique and Materials
Below you will find answers to the most common questions about technical parameters, material characteristics, and applications
What are the recommended print settings for each material?
Parameters vary by material: PLA MAX (nozzle temperature 190-220°C, bed 25-60°C), PETG MAX (230-250°C, bed 70-85°C), TPU (220-240°C, bed 30-60°C, low speed), ASA MAX (240-260°C, bed 90-110°C). Refer to each product's datasheet for exact recommended values.
What is the difference between PLA MAX and standard PLA?
3Dfils PLA MAX is formulated to offer higher mechanical strength, better surface finish, and more consistent printing than generic standard PLA. It is optimized for modern FDM printers and offers a wide range of colors, including silk, galactic, and bicolor finishes.
Which applications are best suited for each material?
PLA MAX is ideal for prototypes, decorative items, and general-purpose parts. PETG MAX is perfect for parts requiring greater chemical and thermal resistance. TPU is the flexible material par excellence, ideal for gaskets, covers, and shock-absorbing parts. ASA MAX is the best option for outdoor use due to its UV resistance.
What is dual filament and how does it work?
DUAL PLA are spools with two colors in a single filament. As it prints, the color gradually changes, creating unique transition effects without needing to change spools or have a multi-extruder printer.
