Who are the 3D filament packs for?
Buying 3D filament in bulk is the most cost-effective decision for three very specific profiles:
- Makers and enthusiasts with regular consumption: if you print daily or have a printer running several hours a week, you will use between 8 and 15 kg of filament per year. Concentrating your purchases in packs of 5 or 10 units significantly reduces the effective price per kilo.
- Small businesses and workshops: printer farms, on-demand printing services, hardware stores with manufacturing and professional prototyping services. Here, bulk buying is not optional, it's the only way to maintain healthy margins.
- Classrooms, training centers, and FabLabs: with groups of students printing simultaneously, consumption skyrockets. Packs of 10 units in basic colors (black, white, gray PLA) are the most in-demand format.
Pre-defined packs vs. pack configurator
At 3DFils, you have two ways to buy in bulk:
- Pre-defined packs (the ones you see in this collection): fixed combinations of the best-selling colors and materials. Ready to add to your cart with one click, with the discount already applied to the price.
- Pack configurator: if you want to mix colors, materials, or variants (for example, 5 PLA + 3 PETG + 2 TPU), the configurator allows you to set up your custom combination and applies the volume discount to the total.
Both methods use the same discount scale (5/10/15%), so the final price per kilo is the same. The only difference is flexibility.
The filament in the packs is the same as in the individual catalog
Those who don't know us sometimes think that a cheaper pack means a second-rate filament. That's not the case. The spools in the packs are the same active references we sell individually: same extrusion, same lot quality control, same downloadable technical data sheet, and same support. The discount comes from the order volume, not from the formulation.
What materials you will find in packs.
We keep active packs in the ranges with the highest turnover:
- PLA: the most in-demand option due to its ease of printing and compatibility with all FDM printers. Available in basic colors (black, white) in packs of 5 and 10 units.
- PETG, TPU and ASA: on demand through the pack configurator, where you can choose colors and formats according to your needs.
We periodically expand the catalog of predefined packs based on turnover. If you miss a specific combination, write to us via chat or use the configurator to create a custom pack.
